Thanksgiving
I want to give thanks
I have awoken every day this fall with an awe inspired sense of gratitude for being given another day to walk the earth. I generally live with this attitude of gratitude having nearly lost my life when I was 35 to a severe stroke. The view from every window in my house is a glorious tribute to the beauty of the season. We are surrounded by trees resplendent with the colors of fall in the northeast. Some of them just take my breath away and I am reminded that being alive is a miracle to be grateful for every day.
’Tis the season to give thanks according to the calendar. It is common practice to reflect this month on what we are thankful for. I have many of the “things” in my life that most people wish they had: my health, a healthy family, people who love me, and just about every material thing I could ever want or need. Beyond this obvious bounty, I have been struck by my good fortune of having built a following of over 200 people here on Medium in a year. I am thankful to everyone who has taken the time to keep their eyeballs on my work long enough to read it. I sincerely appreciate each and every clap my stories have received. But most of all, I am deeply grateful for every response people have written for my posts. Being able to elicit a response to something I have written is truly one of my biggest motivations for continuing to stay on the lookout for inspiration and then bring that inspiration to fruition.
So thank you to everyone who has followed me, viewed my stories, read them, clapped for them, and taken the time to respond. Happy fall. Happy Thanksgiving. Be happy you are alive.
Thank you for reading :)
