Words Have Immense Power

I recently wrote concise, heartfelt responses to two stories by some of my favorite writers here. Their responses were heartfelt, concise and priceless!

First, I read this by Ann Litts; her heartwrenching account of her love affair with a dying man followed by a moving story by Vanessa Torre:

I’m Not Sure How to Be Who I Am

Ann’s story chewed me up and spit me out emotionally. My response to her was “Well. Fuck. That.” This can be read as “Well, Fuck” and “Fuck That”. I meant to convey how I deeply felt the heartbreak in the story.

Ann wrote back “I love you, Victoria. Because — yes. Exactly that!”

I will likely never meet Ann Litts, but I love her, too, and sent her my love in a reply.
