Thanksgiving is tomorrow in the United States. This truly is the land of plenty. It is easy to take it all for granted. In the spirit of really appreciating what we have, I have come up with a list for us to review to make sure we have everything we need:

Do you have:

  1. Your health because there really isn’t anything more important
  2. A roof of some kind
  3. Some people around to sit at a table with you
  4. Some food
  5. Something to wear

Don’t panic if you don’t have everything on the list. We may not have control over having them or not. I would guess you have some of them, if not all.

The trick is to focus on what you do have. Doing so keeps your attitude in the right place. It might even make you smile.

This will be my 20th Thanksgiving as a disabled woman. I still smile because I have been able to focus on what I have that is good in my life.

Be thankful.
