Here It Is
That’s my new logo. My technology whiz kid son suggested I make the logo for my new website suggest disability in some way because he said that’s my “niche”. I do have a minor physical disability from a stroke 19 years ago, but I decided as I was branding myself a la Gary Vee’s suggestions in his book “Crushing It” that I did not want being disabled to be my image. I have risen above my circumstances which is what I hope to inspire others to do through my writing. No, I am a badass champion equestrian who happens to limp.
My 21 year old son is a social media marketing pro. I have a background in sales and marketing that dates back a long way. He suggested I read “Crushing It” so I could learn how to create and market my personal brand. I had written and published a few hundred blog posts in the past year here on Medium so coming up with content was easy. Although my son offered some technical guidance regarding how to build the website, get my logo, build an email list, I have had numerous technical challenges because I have not worked around much technology since I left the business world in 1994 to start a family.

I am a pretty smart person. I powered through the process. My son tried very hard not to hold my hand too much. I stuck to my guns about the logo design. I even had business cards printed with my logo. The process has been fun and rewarding. It has definitely cleared some cobwebs out of my brain.
