I fondly remember sitting on the couch with my young sons at the lake reading the Curious George series of books to them. They were 2 and 4 years old and sometimes fought over who would sit where, jostling for the closest position to Mom.
They frequently begged for more and more adventures with George. I would always relent since sitting and reading was one of few activities I could do with them since I had been disabled before my youngest son was born. They were some of the best times with my little boys.
My “boys” are now 20 and 22. Now, they mostly try not to sit next to me.
The years passed in a blink of an eye.
Your entire life can change in the blink of an eye. Mine did. I woke up one morning to find I’d had a stroke and half my body was paralyzed.
We feel time passing more quickly with fewer years ahead of us. We try to live in the moment. I’m going to try not to blink.
Thank you for reading :)
