Beautiful advice learned the hard way. So sorry for your loss. I was lucky to learn these lessons through surviving a massive hemorrhagic stroke at age 35 during the 6th month of my second pregnancy. My children are 25 and 27 years old.
I made a dramatic recovery, but it was not 100%. It was not enough for my husband who decided he wasn’t going to live with a disabled wife 16 years after I had the stroke. It has been hard to understand how he wasn’t simply overjoyed with the fact I was still alive, but we can never know what it’s like to live someone else’s experience.
