When rain is most refreshing

Have to run to the car to put the windows up
When suddenly it’s pouring
Thunderous lightning born of the heat
A cold, cold rainDuring this drought
And the heat waveThe rain is delicious

It’s a dirty dance
When the cleaning crew comesWe waited weeks
For the helpThen feel disrupted when they arrive at last
Clearing the decks of our stuff piled up over
The weeks we waitedLeave us hiding in our rooms
Uncomfortable at the invasionOf the cleaning lady
…
Accustomed as she was to standing in his long, long shadow for years
She became startled to see her own light
As she stood on her own shining bright at lastThe world noticed she had so much to say
No longer overshadowed but radiating her individual beauty
Of her heart and…
I miss you I want you
Even though we were barely together
It was enough to make me feel
SomethingWondering if you miss me too
Because I have these days
When I feel like I love you

Our love became a tome
Written over years with twists and turns of plot
Drama, passion and tragedy made up the storyIt’s one I won’t read again
Because I prefer to study the footnotesDragged into the future
Reminding me I am worthy of love

Take my hand and walk with me
Down to the seaWhere we shed our clothes
Under the sparkling starsWe can walk into the water
Let’s hope the moon is shining bright
So you can see

I remember the new days of you
Some clandestine visits when I seemed helpless
I wasn’t but you seemed to like to think soWhen you’d lie me down
For our enjoymentSo many months have gone by
It’s too much missing you
Because I rememberHow I wish you…
Words lie in wait
For someplace to goThey wish to be stirring poems and exciting stories
And want to let people know what is going onBut wait they must
For this writer has run out of ink
